bellfast terrace apartment queenstownJCY were approached by the client, who had seen the marketing for the Turner Street apartments. Our initial brief was for a pre-purchase inspection of the apartment and to report on the development potential for this property with the intent of a full strip out and re-fit.
The original building was built around 2005. The subject apartment had had very little done to it since it was built. Finishes and fixtures were dated and worn. The bones of the building were great, the views exceptional and the property affordable.
JCY carried out the design for the refit to pitch the property at the top end of the Queenstown market. Finishes, fixtures and fittings proposed were top quality. The aesthetic, modern with a focus on raw natural materiality. JCY worked in conjunction with Mal Corboy Design who carried out the design of the interior joinery, assisted with material choices, furniture etc.
The finished apartment aesthetic is modern and has a richness of material finishes from the slatted solid walnut, walnut veneer, schist, raw steel, large format porcelain tiling, benches etc. The space feels open and light with the ceiling levels raised within the existing structural shell and makes the most of the prime position atop Queenstown Hill. |
