3 Turner Street Apartments Queenstown.JCY were approached by the client, who had been working with others to establish a resource consent to build luxury apartments on the site at 3 Turner Street above the Queenstown CBD.
The site was challenging, steep hillside, limited access, with the ground water table close to the surface. The brief had grown from 2 smaller apartments (3-bed, 2-story) from the entrance / parking level and one (4-bed) apartment with a roof garden. With a change to the upper level 4-bed apartment and roof garden being split into 2 apartments.
JCY carried out the new design through from a revised resource consent to building consent and marketing. The pitch of the proposed development is at the top end of the market. Finishes, fixtures and fittings proposed were affordable but top quality. The aesthetic, modern with a focus on raw natural materiality.
The development has not proceeded at this point past the site preparation and retaining. |
