Top Shop Top Man Auckland
The 1,400 Sq.m Top Shop Top Man Store, corner of Queen St and Victoria Street, Auckland CBD. The project was a refit of an existing retail site, basement, first and Mezzanine floors. JCY assisted the overseas design architects with the delivery of the interior as a collaborative effort.
JCY was responsible for the entire new external highly glazed facade, steel and glass canopy and new store entry at the corner of Queen and Victoria St. Involvement included collaboration with local Engineers, planners and wind testing to achieve council compliance. JCY completed building Consent documents for the new facade/ canopy / ACM cladding.
Internally JCY assisted design layout options from Zebra London and local Australasian Architects Studio Ginger, assessing previous TSTM stores undertaken globally / Australia. Assess all elements with NZ Client integrating the TSTM details into the NZ market. Liaison with engineer regards installation of new internal feature steel staircase and floor penetration for new escalator.
JCY sourced all required local materials and finishes for the project, liaising with Studio Ginger in Melbourne. Regular teleconference drawing review meetings, final materials selection, Involvement with PM run tender process to contractors, tender analysis.
Site construction works, regular site meetings and photo audits with Ginger Studio and Zebra / Arcadia. Respond to and solve construction challenges and ensuring design intent interpreted correctly. Regular conference calls with project team. Regular site visits and final completion inspections. Store opened March 2015.
