Asics Flagship Concept Store Auckland
As we have now moved into Level 2, JCY architects are now operating 100% from our Auckland and Queenstown offices. We are all following our work safe Covid staff distancing, hygiene and tracing protocol.
The store design is a collaboration between Brinkworth London and JCY Architects NZ. The store design focuses on creating a dynamic and globally recognised brand architecture for the store maximising the internal volume of the tenancy. The interior is highly visible from the store frontage and engages with the surrounding environment. The look was to compliment other Asics Concept Stores across the world.
The main feature of the store is the steel and glass access stair to the mezzanine. The Foot ID running assessment space is located on this mezzanine space with full height glass links this space to the ground floor. Runners have their running style computer analysed to choose the most suitable footwear which is a key focus for the store.
The palate of materials is a crisp juxtaposition of refined timber slat wall and joinery with the raw tenancy concrete ceiling, and structural elements. Some new walls and existing beams were painted to compliment the raw base tenancy concrete elements.
